Most Reverend Philip Naameh, a member of the Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference, has observed that laziness is making Ghanaian youth vulnerable to violent activities.

He urged the youth to abstain from the practice and become useful to themselves and society rather than idle about and be used by politicians for violent activities.

Delivering a homely at the burial of former National Council Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. CK Tedam, he said: “I call on the youth to abhor laziness, and making themselves vulnerable to be used for violent activities.”

He used the opportunity to call for the depoliticization of government’s One-Village-One-Dam policy as he noted will benefit not only the five northern Regions but the whole country.

The Archbishop of Tamale Diocese observed that it will give immediate employment to the teeming youth, both men and women, who migrate from the north to the south and other countries looking for non-existent jobs.

“I will also like to observe that if we take partisan politics away from the One Village, One Dam’ policy it is a policy that will benefit not only the five northern Regions but the whole country.

I would, therefore, like to appeal to the Government that the implementation of this laudable project should not be driven by Party Political interests, but be properly implemented with the help of the Irrigation Development Authority (IDA) and other relevant agencies,” he revealed.
