Former Asante Kotoko and Black Stars midfielder Kofi Ntow Gyan has admonished Ghanaians to back off coach Kwasi Appiah as he is not solely responsible for the team’s poor fortunes at the nations cup.

Speaking in an interview on Kumasi based Kessben fm, the former player now turned coach insists Ghanaians have been spoilt thinking we have a divine right and also due to our history of success we must win every tournament we partake in.

“The African cup trophy was not created only for Ghana but for every African nation that prepares very well for the trophy.

In every tournament Ghanaians expect us to win it but when It goes somewhere else we should be considerate” he said.

According to the former Ghana International, we must realize that penalty kicks is pure lottery and it could go any way so we Ghanaians must stop harassing the coach Kwasi Appiah as if he missed the kick.

“If someone misses a penalty should that albatross hang on the coach’s neck. Had Ekuban {Caleb} scored his kick we would have still been in the game and probably go on to win the spot kicks.

If you are rating Kwasi Appiah did his best and stop blaming Kwasi Appiah entirely”he stressed.
