The MP for Bolga central Mr Isaac Adongo has changed the Bank of Ghana to come out with "policy steps" and "guidelines" that can restore confidence in Ghana's financial sector rather than giving verbal excuses.

The lawmaker says the Governor of the Central Bank has been more of talkative than policy maker amidst the banking crisis that has caused the collapse of seven indigenous banks.

"I have never seen Bank of Ghana Governor who talks too much like  Dr Addison guy," he said.

"The Governor of the bank of Ghana should come out with policy steps, guidelines and timelines to ensure confidence.

"Give us assurance beyond  telling us our deposits are safe we have heard that long time ago".

Speaking at a forum organized by the Progressive Alliance Media Communicators(PAMC), he said the government and the Bank of Ghana have only decided to vilify directors and shareholders in order to escape blame.

He said the Banking sector controls over 50% of our total national value and criticised the approach being taken by the Bank of Ghana  to bring sanity into the banking sector.

"I have not said if directors are found complicit in any wrong doing they should not be dealt with  but "hostilities" against the indigenous banks unacceptable, he added.
