The Legal and Regulatory Officer of the Sudanese Football Federation, Badreldin Ibrahim, has highlighted the need for professionalism from coach Kwesi Appiah as Sudan gears up to face Ghana's Black Stars in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Ghana is placed in Group F alongside Angola and Niger for the upcoming qualifiers. The top two teams from each group will secure spots in the tournament, which will be hosted in Morocco.

Kwesi Appiah, a former player and coach of the Black Stars, now leads Sudan's national team, sparking discussions about potential conflicts of interest.

Despite the unique circumstances, Ibrahim expressed confidence in Appiah's professionalism and commitment.

"The conflict is there, but it is a unique and emotionally charged situation for Kwesi Appiah," Ibrahim told Angel TV.

"Playing against Ghana in the AFCON qualifiers is a test of Coach Kwesi Appiah’s professionalism and his commitment to the Sudanese Football Federation."

Ibrahim believes Appiah's extensive experience can be beneficial for Sudan.

"He has very good experience that he can bring to the table, which can be advantageous for us, but it will be proven when we see the results and performance. But the conflict is there," he added.

The AFCON qualifiers are set to commence in September later this year.
