Sudan's assistant coach, Ignatius Osei Fosu, has voiced his dissatisfaction regarding the condition of the training pitch allocated to his team in preparation for their crucial 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Ghana.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Osei Fosu, who collaborates with head coach James Kwasi Appiah, highlighted that the subpar state of the St. Thomas Aquinas Park in Accra significantly hampered their preparations.
"Preparations have not been bad, but our only problem has been with the training pitch. It’s not been the best, but we’ll take it like that," Osei Fosu stated.
He expressed further concerns about the overall playing conditions, adding, "We’ve not trained at the Accra Stadium yet, but if the pitch at Accra is anything close to what was given to us at St. Aquinas, then we are going to see some awful football."
Despite these challenges, Sudan remains resolute in their pursuit of victory against the Black Stars, with the match scheduled for Thursday, October 10, 2024, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The encounter is particularly significant, given that both head coach Kwasi Appiah and assistant coach Osei Fosu are Ghanaians, adding an extra layer of competitiveness to the fixture as Sudan aims to upset Ghana on their home ground.
