Former Ghana International Sulley Ali Muntari is seeking a last hurray in the South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) but his high salary demands is scaring clubs from making a move.

Multiple reports in South Africa claim the former Inter Milan, AC Milan, Porsmouth star is seeking a prohibitive salary of 15million Rands which is almost $1million which putting clubs off any potential deal.

The 35 year old Ghanaian who is in the twilight of his career and has been without a club for about a year now has not hidden his desire to play in the PSL.

Clubs such as Cape Town City and Kaizer Chiefs have made inquiries about the Ghanaian midfielder but have all cooled down their interest due to his demands.

According to Soccer Laduma, the Ghanaian's hopes of playing in the PSL is in grave danger due to his outrageous salary demands.

“There’s a problem regarding Muntari’s proposed PSL move. The player’s demands are too high for the local market,’’ said a source to Soccer Laduma.

“The guy is demanding around R15 million per annum. The clubs that his representatives have spoken to so far in the PSL have pulled out because of the player’s salary demands,” the source added.

Muntari has been without a club after a brief spell with Spanish lower tier side Albacete ended in 2019.
