Ghanaian centre back Kennedy Boateng has been adjudged the second best player in the Upper Austria region at the glamorous Krone Sport Gala in Linz.

Kennedy Boateng was beaten to the top gong by LASK Linz's captain Gernot Trauner to run away with the personal accolade.

The former Wafa defender garnered 83,507 votes to come second in a polls voted for mainly by fans of the league.

Kickerwahl Krone is an award for the best footballer in the Linz region for players in the top-flight and second-tier.

The Ghanaian centre has been in a splendid form for his second tier side in Austria having made 11 appearances scoring a goal and providing an assist.
