The Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) has in a solidarity message wished Duke Akueteh Micah victory on Saturday as he comes up against John Reil Casimero of the Philippines.

The Ghanaian, ranked 11th in the world, will mount the ring on Saturday night to challenge Filipino John Riel Casimero for the WBO Bantamweight crown.

Swag in a statement signed by it’s General Secretary Charles Osei Assibey asked for a nationwide support as Micah moves close to become Ghana’s 11th world boxing champion.

“Our thoughts,prayers and support is with you as you lift the flag of Ghana high," the statement said.

"We believe in your capabilities and urge you to go all out for victory."

Duke Micah fights Casimero at the Mohegan Sun Casino, Unscasville, Connecticut in the United States.

The 29 year old is undefeated in 24 fights, winning 19 of them by way of knockout, while Casmimero out of 33 bouts has 29 wins, with 20 coming by  way of knockout with 4 loses.
