Coach of Swansea City Steve Cooper has been impressed with the performance of Black Stars captain Andre Ayew after he netted in his sides draw with Barnsley over the weekend.

Andre Ayew's third goal in as many matches put the visitors ahead midway through the second

half at Oakwell, but Barnsley captain Alex Mowatt equalised three minutes after the

Ghanaian's effort to earn the managerless hosts a share of the spoils.

Both sides had numerous chances to win the game, with Cameron McGeehan and Cauley

Woodrow having several efforts for the home side while Bersant Celina and Sam Surridge

missed golden opportunities in quick succession for the Swans before Ayew struck.

It means Swansea have won just one of their last seven matches in all competitions, although

they remain unbeaten on the road in the Championship this term.

And Cooper has revealed Ayew is now feeling back to his best having returned to full fitness.

"It's a good return in the last three games," said Cooper.

"You forget with Andre a little bit, he came in late, and even though we put him straight into the team he had to get up to speed with his fitness.

"He's said himself, he's starting to feel a lot stronger. I think that's showing, not just his goals but in his performances. I thought he was a real threat today, and worthy at least of his goal."
