Technical Director of the Ghana Taekwondo Federation (GTF), Stephen Amegashie Jnr has expressed his appreciation and delight after participating in the World Taekwondo (WT) Poomsae Technical Meeting held at Taekwondowon, Muju, Korea.

The 2019 WT Poomsae Technical Meeting which came off from November 17-19 in Muju was after Amegashie had coached female national athlete, Henrietta Armah to win Gold Medal in the -49Kg category at the Korean Ambassador’s Cup Taekwondo World Championships final at the same venue.

The 3-day Meeting saw a total of 54 participants from 33 countries, with Egypt, Libya, Senegal and Ghana representing Africa.

Purposed to upgrade the knowledge of Poomsae, participants were taken through Amended Poomsae competition rules as of 2019, scoring criteria for 2020 and guidelines of Poomsae performance based on scoring criteria.

Mr Amegashie also expressed his gratitude to the Korean Embassy in Ghana.

“I have had a good experience having taken part of this Seminar", he said.

"I have added to what I know in Poomsae and especially regarding the amended rules and guidelines.

"We had practical sessions as well and I must admit it was a great experience.

"I appreciate the seminar and must express my profound gratitude to World Taekwondo and the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Ghana for making this possible for us", Mr. Amegashie added.

Participants of the Technical meeting were treated to a spectacular and captivating demonstration performance by the Taekwondowon Demonstration Team at the Taekwondowon Arts Theatre.

The duo, Stephen and Henrietta who left the shores of the country on Saturday, November 9, are expected back in the country by Tuesday, November 26, 2019.
