Farida Gyamfua Mahama, the eight-year-old daughter of President John Mahama, has consoled her father on his electoral defeat in an emotional letter.

In the letter, which has been shared on President Mahama’s Instagram page, Farida said in the handwritten note that her father did his best to bring transformation to Ghana and affect people’s lives positively.

She stated: “I have faith in my daddy, God has faith in my daddy.

“Daddy has worked so hard to change lives and transform Ghana. He has done so many things, schools, roads. He has done all the things he needs to do, not to say even more. He has done his best and that is the important thing.”

President Mahama failed to secure a second term in office after losing the December 7 presidential polls to the opposition New Patriotic Party’s Nana Akufo-Addo.
