The National Media Coordinator for Ghana Deaf  Sports Federation Mr. Oti Asirifi Mensah has descended heavily on the National Sports Authority and Ministry of Youth and Sports for neglecting the federation ahead of the World Deaflympics slated for Turkey on July 17.

Mr Oti Asirifi in an interview with Space Fm in Sunyani revealed that the Ministry for Youth and Sports and the National Sports Authority since October 2016 has not responded to their letter notifying them of the upcoming event and as such Team Ghana's participation is in a limbo.
"The Deaf Sports Federation presented our notice of participation and estimated budget in October 2016 to the National Sports authority copied to the Ministry to be captured in the first budget to be considered for the 2017 National Budget.

"We did several follow ups ,only to be told three weeks to the start of the event that there are no funds for the federation to attend the DEAFYLMPICS in Turkey". Mr. Oti Asirifi added.

"Again, we are even denied an introductory letter from the National Sports Authority to aid us seek for sponsorship from corporate Ghana", Mr Oti Asirifi Mensah continued on Space Fm.

The World Deaflympics Games starts from 17 July-30th Jul,2017 and Ghana is to partake in seven out of the events programme in Turkey.
