Tema Crash at Valco Roundabout claims one life

A fatal accident in the early hours of Thursday, September 25, 2025, has left one person dead after a private vehicle rammed into a security camera pole at the Tema Valco Roundabout.

The crash occurred around 1:30 a.m., when a car with registration number GR-2773-25 veered off the road and struck the pole with such force that the vehicle was left completely mangled, trapping the driver inside.

A rescue team from the Tema Metro Fire Station, led by ADO II Mike Aidoo, arrived on the scene following a call from the police. After cutting through the wreckage in a tense 10-minute operation, firefighters discovered the driver had already passed away.

The victim’s remains were handed over to police officers and later transferred to the Tema General Hospital morgue in a police pickup. The damaged vehicle was towed to the Community 1 Police Station to clear the road and ensure the safety of other motorists.

Police have not yet identified the deceased and have begun investigations to establish both the driver’s identity and the circumstances that led to the crash.
