Ghana U23 defender Terry Yegbe was on target for IF Elfsborg in their 1-1 draw against Mjallby AIF in the Swedish Allsvenskan on Sunday afternoon.

The centre-back netted his third goal of the season, opening the scoring in a match that ended in a stalemate at the Strandvallen Stadium.

Yegbe put Elfsborg ahead in the 16th minute, skillfully heading the ball into the net from a corner delivered by Jens Jakob Thomasen.

The well-executed corner kick was directed into a crowded area near the goal, where Yegbe rose above the rest to head the ball home.

However, the lead was short-lived as Mjallby quickly responded with an equalizer. Midfielder Herman Johansson brought the home side level a few minutes later, capitalizing on an assist from Elliot Stroud.

Ghanaian duo Jalal Abdullai and Michael Baidoo also featured for Elfsborg in the match. Abdullai was substituted in the 71st minute, while Baidoo played the full 90 minutes in this round 19 fixture.

Elfsborg finished the match with ten men after Kenyan midfielder Timothy Ouma was sent off for a second yellow card, adding to the challenges they faced during the game.

Yegbe's goal takes his tally for the season to three goals and one assist after 12 appearances in the Swedish top-flight, showcasing his growing influence in the Elfsborg lineup.
