The Deputy Information Minister Designate, Fatimatu Abubakar has extended her heartfelt gratitude to President Akufo Addo over her nomination to the Information Ministry.

Fatimatu makes the list of the 39 Deputy Ministers Designate issued yesterday by the Presidency and if passed by Parliament, she heads to the Information Ministry to deputize for Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.

Reacting to her nomination, an obviously excited Fatimatu indicated her nomination was a positive mark for all young people.

“I can only say thank you for this honour done myself and my family and all the young people in this country,“ she said.

Meanwhile Fatimatu will be part of the 18.0% of women to work as Ministers in the second term of President Akufo Addo’s government, which will be a push from the 15.87% of his first term.

A bit about Fatimatu Abubakar

She is a Ghanaian business woman, Lawyer and Politician, groomed at the Kumasi Academy Senior High School, University of Ghana, Mountcrest University College and the Ghana School of Law.

She is a Board Member of the Ghana Trade Fair Company Limited and has been serving as the Deputy Director of Communications at the Presidency.

She was phenomenal as part of the Communications team of the Second Respondent, President Akufo Addo in the 2020 election petition.
