The search engine giant recently released a list of health-related questions widely searched by the people across the world in 2018. From Keto Diet to endometriosis, here is what was in the mind of the people this year.

The low-carb, high-fat diet, topped the list of most searched health-related questions on Google this year. In Keto diet, carbohydrate intake is reduced and it is replaced with fats. The reduction on carbs puts the body in a metabolic state called Ketosis, in which body burns fat for energy. This diet has been proven very beneficial in weight loss and has numerous other health benefits. Apart from this, Keto diet also improves your skin and helps with the polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS).

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or ALS is the second most searched health related question on Google. The disease possibly generated curiosity among people after the death of physicist Stephen Hawking in March. This nervous system disease attacks nerve cells in your brain and spinal cord, which is responsible for controlling voluntary muscle movement. Hawking was diagnosed with this condition when he was 21, but he lived with it for more than 50 years, which is a very long time for a person suffering from this condition.

Third in the list is endometriosis. In this condition, the tissues normally lining the uterus from inside grows outside it. It can be painful and can even lead to infertility. It mostly involves ovaries, fallopian tubes and the tissue lining the pelvis. Recently Hollywood actors like Gabrielle Union, Lena Dunham, and Halsey revealed how this disease impacted their fertility.
