The General Secretary of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Prosper Harrison Addo says congress that came of on Tuesday goes a long way to strengthen the governance structure of the FA.

About two years ago, Ghana football was under the leadership of the Normalization Committee and so holding congress under an elected FA President is a giant step in the reformation of our football.

He goes on to add that the Association will implement all the decisions that was agreed and enacted by congress at Tuesday's meeting.

The GFA on Tuesday 1st September 2020 held their 26th ordinary congress at the Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence in Prampram where a lot of decisions were taken by members of congress.

Key among them include the adoption of the FA 's budget for the 2020/2021 financial year, the agreement on allowances and emoluments for elected hierarchy of the Association among others.

“This process goes to strengthen our governance structure so that every expenditure made is supported by Congress and makes for good administration going forward.

“We have come from the Normalization period so we are at the building stage and step by step we are complying with the tenets of good corporate governance.

“It was a successful congress and our congressmen and women have approved a number of things that the administration needs to execute.

“All the decisions taken would be implemented by the Secretariat to ensure the development of the association”, the GFA general secretary told journalist at the end of Congress.

He continued, “This process goes to strengthen our governance structure so that every expenditure made is supported by Congress and makes for good administration going forward.

“We have come from the Normalization period so we are at the building stage and step by step we are complying with the tenets of good corporate governance”.
