Ghana international Thomas Partey has pleaded not guilty to two new allegations of rape during a court appearance in Southwark Crown Court.
The alleged incidents are reported to have taken place on a single day in December 2020. The latest charges bring the total number of allegations against the midfielder to seven counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.
During proceedings, Partey entered formal not guilty pleas, maintaining his position as the case continues through the legal system.
His defence lawyer, Jenny Wiltshire, reiterated his stance in a statement, saying: “Thomas Partey continues to deny all charges against him. He has cooperated with the police throughout.”
She added that no further comment would be made due to the ongoing legal process.
The case remains active, and further hearings are expected as the court examines the allegations.
Under UK law, defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty, and proceedings will continue as evidence is presented and tested in court.
