Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey marked his UEFA Champions League debut for Arsenal this season with a second-half appearance in the quarter-final clash against Bayern Munich.

Partey entered the fray in the closing minutes of the match, replacing Kai Havertz, as Arsenal secured a hard-fought 2-2 draw in the first leg at the Emirates on Tuesday night.

The former Atletico Madrid star, instrumental in Arsenal's return to Europe's top competition after a seven-year absence, has faced challenges in the 2023/24 campaign due to recurring injuries.

Having recently returned from a long-term injury sustained in October last year, Partey has struggled with fitness issues throughout the season.

Despite limited playing time, the industrious midfielder provided solidity to Arsenal's midfield as they earned a valuable draw ahead of their trip to Germany.

Arsenal started brightly, with Bukayo Saka opening the scoring 12 minutes into the match.

However, former Gunner Serge Gnabry equalized for Bayern Munich six minutes later, followed by Harry Kane giving the visitors the lead from the penalty spot.

Arsenal fought back, with Leandro Trossard leveling the score with 14 minutes remaining, setting the stage for an intriguing second leg in Germany.
