Thomas Partey was sent off as Atlético Madrid suffered a 1-3 defeat to city rivals Real Madrid on Saturday afternoon at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.

The 25 year old was shown a first yellow card in the 63rd minute after he was involved in a challenge against the visitors left back Sergio Rugiulón.

A nasty tackle later in the 81st minute on Toni Kroos saw the Ghanaian international received a second yellow card which got him sent off.

Thomas will miss next week’s clash when Atlético de Madrid travels to face Rayo Vallecano.

A spectacular strike from Casemiro and a late first-half penalty conversion from Sergio Ramos sandwiched an Antoine Griezmann goal to give Real the lead at half-time.

Gareth Bale polished things off with a second-half goal to earn Los Blancos their fifth straight league triumph.
