Thomas Partey, the Ghanaian midfielder plying his trade with Arsenal FC, is poised for an extended period on the sidelines after suffering a severe injury during a training session with his club.

This unfortunate development will regrettably force him to miss Ghana's international friendly matches against the USA and Mexico in October.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) had initially announced on Friday that Partey had incurred a groin injury, prior to his club's confirmation of the injury as he sat out Arsenal's 3-1 victory over Manchester United.

Arsenal's official social media channels subsequently posted a brief message confirming the nature of the injury, with the London-based club stating that Thomas Partey had sustained a groin injury.

Arsenal's manager, Mikel Arteta, expressed his concerns about the injury, remarking, "It doesn't look good. We need some more tests. I believe he'll be out for a few weeks," following the game on Sunday.

The latest reports indicate that Thomas Partey could face an absence of up to eight weeks from competitive action.

This unfortunate setback is set to rule him out of several key matches, including Arsenal's encounters with Everton, Tottenham, Bournemouth, and Manchester City.

Additionally, he is expected to miss important UEFA Champions League fixtures against PSV Eindhoven and Lens.

During this period of recovery, Thomas Partey is also likely to be unavailable for selection in Ghana's national team, which will affect their preparations and participation in the upcoming international friendlies against the USA and Mexico.
