Thomas Partey urges Arsenal to learn from mistakes against Bournemouth
22nd October 2024
Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has called for the team to take lessons from their 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday, October 19, 2024.
The loss at the Vitality Stadium saw Arsenal reduced to 10 men after William Saliba was sent off in the 30th minute, significantly affecting their game plan.
Speaking after the match, Partey acknowledged that Saliba's dismissal was a turning point, but stressed the importance of the team staying focused as they push for the Premier League title.
“We need to learn from our mistakes and make sure they don’t happen again," Partey said.
"We are working hard and giving our all, but sometimes these things happen. We have to stick together because red cards are part of football, and we must grow from every experience.
When we have 11 players on the pitch, we always dominate."
Arsenal now sits third in the Premier League standings with 17 points from eight games, trailing behind league leaders Liverpool with 21 points and second-placed Manchester City with 20.
The Gunners will look to bounce back when they face FC Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.
