Ghanaian midfielder Yaw Yeboah made a late appearance for Major League Soccer side Los Angeles FC in their FIFA Club World Cup opener against English giants Chelsea on Monday night.
The revamped tournament, hosted at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta, saw Chelsea ease past LAFC with a 2-0 victory in an entertaining contest.
Portuguese winger Pedro Neto opened the scoring for the Blues in the 34th minute, before Argentine midfielder Enzo Fernández sealed the result with a second-half strike.

Yeboah, formerly of Manchester City, was brought on in the 87th minute to replace Marky Delgado.
Though his time on the pitch was limited, the Ghanaian managed to complete all four of his passes, ending with a perfect pass accuracy rate.
The midfielder will now be eyeing a spot in the starting lineup when LAFC face Tunisian powerhouse Espérance de Tunis in their second group game on Friday, June 20.
Yeboah is one of three Ghanaian players participating in the 2025 Club World Cup. The others include Samuel Obeng Gyabaa of Wydad Athletic Club and Edmund Baidoo of Red Bull Salzburg.
