Arsenal and Ghana midfielder Thomas Teye Partey is close to making a return to action after missing his side's game in the FA Cup on Saturday.

The player has been sidelined with an injury since going off in a Premier League game against Manchester City in December last year.

He was expected back in Arsenal's third round FA Cup game against Newcastle United over the weekend but was not in the squad.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that the midfielder will be ready for their Premier League match on Thursday against Crystal Palace.

Partey has resumed full training with the rest of the Arsenal squad and will be available for selection in Arsenal's next game.

"Thomas has been in full training for the last four or five days, he's completely asymptomatic," Arteta said on Monday.

"It would be a little bit rushed to try and play him against Newcastle but I think he will be ready for Thursday," he added.

The Gunners will host Crystal Palace in a London derby on Thursday at 8pm.

He has made six appearances so far fir Arsenal since joining in the summer from Athletico Madrid in the summer.
