They say females have the best vocals but men always dominate the music industry, especially in Ghana. This year has been good for some male vocalists than rappers because the competition isn’t that tight.

The industry saw a lot of emerging singers this year. In fact, some rappers even switched their talents and became successful this year.

From Worlasi to Akwaboah, we bring you top 5 male vocalists who drove the ladies crazy in 2016.

1. Akwaboah

After signing with Sarkodie’s SarkCess Music label, Akwaboahhas never been the same. I always describe him as a ‘complete musician’ due to his ability to multitask and easily adopt any style. He has been successful this year. He dropped two straight hits; “I do Love You” remix featuring Ice Prince and “Hello” featuring Sarkodie.

2. Worlasi

Worlasi has a golden voice – no wonder the ladies are in love with him. The multi-talented musician has proven on several occasions his inimitable talent. Apart from the vocal support he provided E.L and M.anifest on their albums, he has dropped some fairly hit songs this year.

3. Stonebwoy

He calls himself 'Stone god' but his vocal is softer than ‘frostbite’. Apart from Knii Lante and a few others, Stonebwoy has no competitor in the Afro-Dancehall/Reggae genre in Ghana. He has been blessed with envious vocals. He has “People Dey”, “Problem”, “By Grace”, and “Live in Love” to his credit.

4. Mugeez

Mugeez has had an impressive year. From “Talk Talk” to “Tonight”, Mugeez has proven that his vocal cords are healthier than that of your favourite singer.

5. A.I

You’ve got to love this guy! The sensational vocalist has been everywhere this year because of his soothing and mollifying vocal. Do you need proof? Listen to “Grind” with Vision DJ, “Shine” with E.L and “Motomodwo” with Trigmatic. His delivery and switch of vocals are always on point.
