Tottenham Hotspur confirm the signing of Ghanaian international Mohammed Kudus on a 6-year deal

English Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspurs have confirmed the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United.

The North London club as reported on Wednesday, July 9 2025 have completed and confirmed the capture of Ghanaian international, Mohammed Kudus on a 6-year contract in a deal worth around £55M.

The former Ajax star became the talk of the town in the summer transfer market as a significant number of European giants were vying for his signature but Tottenham became front runners and emerged suitors as the Ghanaian international pushed for the deal to go through.

After days when he had agreed personal terms with the reigning UEFA Europa League champions, West Ham United were still in negotiations with Tottenham as both clubs looked to come to a compromise in the protracted talks as they West London club viewed the Ghanaian international to be worth around £85M, placing the price tag on the playmaker as his ultimate buy-out clause.

As was reported earlier, Tottenham Hotspurs’ new head coach, Thomas Frank looked to speed up the snapping up of the Ghanaian international as he views him to be a key figure in his philosophy for the “New Era” at Tottenham Hotspurs.

He pushed through for the imminent signing of the former Nordsjaelland playmaker to arrive at “The Lillies” as he prepares to take the new domestic and continental season by storm and go all out to make a statement for the North Londoners.

In the Club statement about the signing of the Ghanaian, they expressed their delight in landing the Ghanaian midfielder and also announced his jersey number subsequently after the capture:

“We are delighted to announce the signing of Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United, subject to work permit.

The Ghana international has agreed a long-term contract and will wear the number 20 shirt.”

“Follow his move from West Ham United, we can confirm the shirt number that Mohammed Kudus will wear for the Club.

The forward will wear the number 20 shirt.”

Mohammed Kudus becomes the first signing under the new Thomas Frank era at Spurs and is expected to bolster the squad and bring in immense European football experience as they look to make a return to the UEFA Champions League in the 2025/2026 season.
