Tottenham Hotspurs agree a deal to sign Ghanaian playmaker Mohammed Kudus
9th July 2025
English Premier League side, Tottenham Hotspurs have reportedly agreed a deal to snap up Ghanaian international, Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United.
Reports have indicated that the North London outfit have agreed a deal of £55M to sign Ghanaian playmaker Mohammed Kudus. The deal is set to have the former Ajax star sign a deal after his medicals are scheduled to be completed on Thursday, July 10.
The 24 year old’s move to Tottenham sees a protracted transfer saga come to an end after a prolonged period of negotiations. West Ham United had an 85M£ release clause in place for the playmaker but it was revealed that both clubs came to a compromise when the player had agreed personal terms with the North Londoners during the prolonged negotiations.
Since joining West Ham in the 2023/2024 season from Ajax Amsterdam for a £38M in a 6-year deal, the Ghanaian went on to shine in his first season with the club, nothching 14 goals and providing 8 assists across all competitions for the Premier League outfit. Kudus became a standout player at the club, making waves with his explosive performances in the English Premier League and in Europe.
Notwithstanding the unsuccessful run in his subsequent season where he only amassed 5 goals and 3 assists for the West London outfit, his overall performances as an individual caught the eyes of top managers and enthusiasts which gave new Tottenham coach, Thomas Frank the confidence to land the Ghanaian star at the club.
Despite interests from other Premier League clubs like Chelsea who kept pushing for the Ghanaian’s signature, the former Right To Dream Academy graduate remained steadfast in his stance, keeping close tabs on his preferred club Tottenham Hotspurs.
As the deal has been agreed, the Ghanaian is set to undergo all documentation and medical examination to complete the move as it is deemed imminent in the coming hours.
Kudus now holds the record of the most expensive Ghanaian player of all time as he surpassees Thomas Partey who was landed by Arsenal on a £50M fee.
