Robbie Keane has lauded the impact of Christian Atsu in Newcastle United’s 1-0 win over Tottenham in the English Premiership on Sunday.

The Ghanaian international who was introduced in the 17th minute to replace the injured Allan Saint-Maximin, created more chances than any other player (three) and provided a sublime assist for the match winner.

Joelinton expertly dispatched low beyond Lloris in the 27th minute after Atsu picked him out with an exquisite pass with the outside of his boot.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the shock win for Newcastle, former Tottenham striker Keane revealed that he was blown away by Atsu’s performance.

“I thought he was brilliant,” said Keane. “He wasn’t scared to get at people, he’s very, very confident in possession.

“Great first touch here, this sets up the goal.”
