UECL: Ghanaian midfielder Rahim Ibrahim scores in SK Slovan Bratislava defeat to Strasbourg

Ghanaian combative midfielder, Rahim Ibrahim opens his European goal scoring account in the UEFA Europa Conference League against Strasbourg on Thursday night.
The enterprising midfielder announced his presence at the European competition under the lights at the Tehelne Pole Stadion where his side, SK Slovan Bratislava hosted French Ligue 1 side Strasbourg FC in the UEFA Europa Conference League as he scored the consolation goal for the Slovak outfit in their 2-1 loss at home.
The Ghanaian midfielder continues to make his mark in Europe, and scoring in a UEFA Europa Conference League clash against Strasbourg is no small feat. After the French side had grabbed the lead via an own goal suffered by Alasana Yirajang on the 26th minute, and an Abdoul Ouattara goal on the 41st minute to double the lead for the French side, Rahim and his side remained adamant for a positive comeback in the second half but came out futile.
The former Ghana U20 star grabbed the consolation on the 64th minute after he leaped highest in the 18-yard box of the opposition after Barseghyan had pulled off a sublime cross from the corner kick, finding Rahim who slotted in a great header.
The former Accra Lions talisman’s goal was not enough to seal a point for the Slovak side at home as they lost to the French Ligue 1 side in the round one of the 2025/26 UEFA Europa Conference League season.
His goal not only highlights his growing influence at Slovan Bratislava, but also adds to the narrative of Ghanaian players thriving across European competitions this season.
With Antoine Semenyo shining in the Premier League and Kudus leading the charge at Spurs, Rahim’s strike adds another layer to Ghana’s midfield depth — as Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo looks to broaden his scope to search for more additions to bolster the squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup which is set to be staged in North America; United States, Canada and Mexico.
