Graduating students of the University of Education Winneba have been left stranded on campus.

Students who have traveled from all around the country for the graduation ceremony are in a limbo as they do not know their fate.

This is due to government's delay in reconstituting the University’s Governing Council which has the mandate to oversee the graduation ceremony.

The Council’s mandate expired on Wednesday 17th June but despite weeks of notice by the authorities of the University to the Ministry of Education and the National Council for Tertiary Education(NCTE), the Governing Council has still not being reconstituted.

In an interview with ghanaguardian.com, some Students bemoaned their luck on UEW campus as its always one issue to another with some asking when they will ever know peace on that land.

Others expressed their frustration at events in the school and urged government to swiftly resolve this latest hitch.

Over 15,000 students may be affected If the situation is not averted as students from bachelors degree,Masters and PhD from campuses in Kumasi,Mampong and Ejumako are in a similar fate.

Authorities of the school are unable to give any assurances to anxious students on campus as to when the situation will be rectified for the graduation ceremony to go ahead.

The graduation should have started on 22nd July -29th July but as at now it appears to be in the balance.
