British man notoriously known for being married  multiple times has revealed that he has gotten offers from Ghana as he searches for wife number 9.
Ron Sheppard, who has been married eight times, was devastated when Cristel Lalec, his 29 year old bride-to-be, ran off with another lover.

But the 69-year-old seem to have quickly moved on and said he was on the hunt for a more mature lady aged in her 30s.

According to Ron, he has now been inundated with offers from around ten women from as far afield as Ghana, the US, Vietnam and Australia.

He said at least 10 women have contacted him looking for love since he declared himself back on the market this week after his fiancee ditched him and left the home they shared.

He added that his phone keeps pinging, alerting him to more amorous messages from admirers.

He told the Mirror: "I would expect wife number nine shortly at this rate.

“I just can’t fathom what they see in me. Perhaps it’s all part and parcel of being internationally notorious.”

Ron said: “It’s amazing – I have an avalanche of messages. Just wait until they see my Tinder. As soon as Cristel left I couldn’t move for messages of love from places like Ghana.

“Of course there is only so much Ron to go around and I am not getting any younger so maybe I need to be a bit more discerning this time round. Wife number nine has to be the one – even I couldn’t face a tenth.”

The dad now plans to woo hos potential ninth wife with his Norman Wisdom impressions - even though Cristal wasn't a fan of his jokes.

Ron insists his humour - which includes impressions of Frank Spencer and Del Boy - has helped him "laugh women into bed".

He is also adamant his next wife will be "the one" because he couldn't face getting hitched for a tenth time.

Cristel was still married in the Philippines but had pledged she would divorce when Ron proposed to her on New Year's Eve in Thailand.

But "cracks started to appear" in their relationship and she told him she was flying home for a visit - but he later found she had taken all of her belongings.

Ron met Cristel when living in Thailand with his seventh wife Wan and they would often socialise as a trio.

After his marriage to eighth wife Weng began to break down they struck up a close friendship in 2015.

She arrived in the UK last November and lived at his home in Somerton, Somerset.

Cristel insisted at the time she was not using Ron, who suffers from Parkinson's disease, as a way of getting to Britain.

He said he has now alerted the Border Agency in case she is trying to stay in the UK illegally.

Ron first got married to Margaret in 1966 and had three children with her.

Wife number two was Jeanette in 1973 but the marriage only lasted a year.

He wed Lesley in 1976 and they had two boys before separating five years later.

Fourth wife Kathy followed in 1982.

His longest marriage was to Sue, who he wed in 1986 before she threw him out 11 years later.

Singapore national Usha was wife number six in 1999, closely followed by Wan in 2003 and Weng a year later.
