The Member of Parliament (MP) for Upper West Akim, Frederick Adom Obeng has donated a palm kernel processing machine to the Mepom Palm Oil Company in the Eastern Region.

The donation was as part of the lawmaker’s celebration of International Labour Day with his constituents.

For several years, labour-intensive methods of processing palm kernels, which are time and energy-consuming, we used, but with limited productivity.

Mr. Adom was accompanied by the NPP Constituency Chairman, Nana Addae Obuobi, the Constituency first vice Chairman, Alhaji Nurudeen Alhassan, Sariki Amadu, a member of the Council of Elders and some party faithful.

The Upper West Akim lawmaker presented the machine, which costs thousands of Ghana cedis to help the workers, mostly women, to boost productivity with less effort.

According to him, the donation is an appreciative gesture for their hard work.

He thus promised to do more for the company and his constituents at large.

One of the workers, who spoke on behalf of the staff, expressed their gratitude to him.

“We are happy that finally, our MP has come to our aid to help with this machine to help us in our [time of need]. I believe this will go a long way to help us and make our work easier. We thank him and pray for God to bless and guide him.”
