The District Chief Executivr (DCE) at Krachi Nchumuru in the  Volta region is reported to have ordered the removal of the image of the former President John Mahama from the Nchumuruman Senior High School saying it was a directive of the Volta regional deputy Minister.

The decision comes up on the grounds that he has ordered the the supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to ensure that the image of Mr Mahama is on all Secondary schools across the country before it can be on the Nchumuruman Senior High School, which is one f the E-block constructed under the erstwhile Mahama administration.

The Mahama administration had promised to build 200 of the E block which were aimed to serve as community Senior High Schools but as at the end of the term of the party, the administration had built 50.

The action of  Augustine Appiah, the DCE  has caused the rise of tension in the community.

Speaking to Accra based radio station Starr FM, a local journalist, Michael Birikorang said the DCE is ready to come to agreement terms with the supporters of the NDC.

He sad, “I think the order is rational and common sense. Why should the former President’s picture be on the school when it is a national property? It is a national property so we can’t have anybody’s picture on it. Assuming all the presidents who constructed the various secondary schools in the country decided to put their pictures on them, what would happen to this country”.
