Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on Thursday commissioned a new Astro Turf for the Adjiringano community in Greater Accra.

He was joined by some dignitaries including National Football stars for the short ceremony.

It is the 54th turf to be built by the Akufo-Addo government since it won power in 2017.

According to the vice President, edifice adds to the remarkable number of modern astro turfs the Government has built.

"This evening, I joined dignitaries, including former national football stars at Adjiringanor in the Adenta Municipality in the Greater Accra Region to commission an ultra modern astro turf for the Adjiringanor community," the veep said in a tweet.

"The commissioning of the beautiful edifice adds to the remarkable number of modern astro turfs the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has built in various communities across the country in the past 4 years.

"These community astro turfs will not only help unearth more talents, but also promote community sports and fitness."

The facility has standard pitch, an 11-aside full pitch of 98 by 58 square meters and floodlights.

It can also serve multi-purpose for the community as a ground for rallies, conventions, and social events.
