Joyfm News Editor, Araba Koomson says former President, John Dramani Mahama needs more than empathy to win the 2020 elections.

She is of the view that the former President’s empathetic nature may equally serve as his weakness.

Her remarks follows a chapter in Manesseh’s book which chronicles former President, John Dramani Mahama reign, rejection and rebound.

The over 350-paged book chronicles the major events that shaped the Mahama presidency and delves deep to find answers to some of the critical characters and issues of the Mahama era.

In an interview with TheGhanaReport.com, after Manesseh’s book launch at Christ the King Parish Hall in Accra, Joyfm News Editor emphasizing on the former President qualities said he is very empathetic.

“I’ve come across him several times, he is very empathetic, he is somebody who is easy to get along with and I think that is one of his amazing qualities. ”

“I think that is one of his strength. And he is able to communicate effectively, ” she mentioned in an interview.

But as much as she enjoys praising him, she was quick to add like everybody we all have weaknesses and the President’s own is she stressed is his ‘Indecisiveness’.

“I think that is one thing that almost every leader has had to go through. I believe it has to do with the fact that there are a lot of people whispering into his ears, at the end he is faced with a decision of not settling the masses, ” she noted.

Commenting on Manesseh’s new book, she stressed on how important it is for everyone to get a copy of the book.

She believes it is important to get a book that seeks to educate, inform the public about happenings within the political spheres.

The Joy’s News editor, who also read a chapter from the book expressed her surprise at the length to which people [politicians] put in so much energy during the electioneering period.

Although, she was quick to add that the thirst for winning did not come as a surprise to her since in life we all try to fight for what we want.

“It didn’t come as a surprise but is also very sad to see people campaigning, putting so much energy into the election, just to win and its never easy to see someone defeated,” she said in an interview.

She added “I think this is an important read that every person needs to get, a politician, a historian or a journalism student must read. The book details another journey of what people have to overcome, their fears, reservations and all…”

She further lauded the work of the revered investigative journalist for going the extra mile of detailing happenings that go on behind the scenes to the full glare of the general public.

She urged the general public to get a copy of the revealing book.
