Tensions boiled over at the Adabraka District Court on Friday, 22 August 2025, when relatives of slain Ghana Immigration Service officer, Stephen King Amoah, attempted to physically attack the suspects accused of murdering him.

A video from the court premises captured the heated scene as the grief-stricken family members charged toward the accused.

Swift intervention from police officers prevented violence, as they formed a shield around the suspects before rushing them into a waiting vehicle and speeding away.

The incident highlighted the deep anger and frustration of Amoah’s family, who are still reeling from his brutal killing.

Amoah, who was reported missing on 4 July 2025, was found dead five days later.

His charred body was discovered in a gutter near the GBC Satellite, opposite Comet Estate in Accra, and later taken to the Police Hospital mortuary, where relatives identified him despite the extensive burns.

Investigations revealed that on the night of 3 July 2025, Amoah left his Ashongman Estate home after receiving WhatsApp images of large sums of money from Bright Aweh, who allegedly invited him for a meeting over a financial settlement.

He never returned.

Police arrested Aweh, who confessed to giving Amoah GHS 500,000 in cash, claiming part of it was to clear debts while the remainder was to be kept for later collection.

However, his explanation about the source of the money proved inconsistent.

Another suspect, Thomas Zigah (alias Nii Jaase), was later arrested.

The two appeared before the Adabraka District Court on 22 August, where Amoah’s grieving relatives attempted to confront them.

The case, which combines brutality, financial mystery, and unanswered questions, has since drawn widespread public attention.
