Beleaguered Rector of the Wa Polytechnic Prof. Emmanuel Marfo Owusu has been prevented from entering his office despite a court order to the Polytechnic’s Council to reinstate him.

He arrived at the Polytechnic’s administration block  in the controversial luxurious GHC500,000 Mercedes Benz car only to meet the doors leading to his office locked.

The Wa High Court on Tuesday quashed the decision of the Governing Council of the Wa Polytechnic suspending him as the Rector.

Prof. Emmanuel Marfo Owusu in an interview with the media vowed to fight any impediments in his way.

“They might have heard that I was coming to report or just come to my office and unfortunately, they appeared to show that I’m not needed in the office and they’re not ready to comply with the decision of the court.”

He added that he’ll not attend an emergency meeting inviting him which has been scheduled for Friday by the Governing Council as he’s sees that he’s not needed at the meeting.

“I want to really state explicitly to your hearing that I will not come to the Council Meeting, they can reschedule it if they will ensure that I come to the office before another council meeting is held. Because these people who are following me are ensuring that by hook or crook they take me out.”

Prof. Marfo Owusu’s tenure has been fraught with a lot of controversies. In April 2018, aggrieved staff of the Polytechnic chased him out after mounting road blocks to impound his car and prevent him from accessing his office.

He was interdicted and probed over allegation of embezzling over GHC500,000.
