In the first leg of the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations qualifier (WAFCON), Ghana's Black Queens delivered a commanding performance, defeating Rwanda 7-0 at the Kigali Pele Stadium on Wednesday.

Under the guidance of Coach Nora Huptle, the Ghanaian team showcased dominance throughout both halves as they outclassed their opponents.

The Black Queens have been experiencing a resurgence since Coach Nora Huptle's appointment.

The scoring commenced early in the match when Doris Boaduwaa netted the opening goal for the Queens.

Evelyn Badu extended the lead for the Ghanaian squad with a goal in the ninth minute, capitalizing on a pass from Grace Acheampong.

Priscilla Adubea added a third goal to the Black Queens' tally with a header in the 30th minute.

After halftime, Alice Kusi found the net for the fourth goal of the game for the Black Queens.

Evelyn Badu showcased her prowess with a splendid strike in the 64th minute, securing Ghana's fifth goal and her second of the match.

In the 65th minute, Ghana was awarded a penalty, but Jennifer Cudjoe missed the resulting kick.

Achiaa Anastaesia contributed to the scoring with a long-range strike in the 75th minute, taking advantage of a goalkeeper error to make it six for the Queens.

Anastaesia added another goal a few minutes later, sealing the Black Queens' 7-0 victory over their opponents.

Ghana will host Rwanda in the second leg at the Accra Sports Stadium in a week's time.
