Northern Ladies midfielder Wasiima Mohammed has earned a late call-up to join the Black Queens in Morocco ahead of the 2025 TotalEnergies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Wasiima, a former member of the Black Princesses, was recently assessed by Coach Kim Lars Björkegren and his technical team during a preparatory camp at Prampram.

She steps in for Abigail Kofi Kim, who has been ruled out of the training camp and tournament due to unavailability.

Having already arrived in Morocco, Wasiima is expected to take part in the final phase of preparations, including friendly matches, as she vies for a place in the final squad for the tournament.

The 2025 WAFCON will take place from July 5 to 26 in Morocco, with Ghana drawn in a competitive Group C alongside defending champions South Africa.
