Elmina Sharks are on the brink of being relegated unless they win all their remaining two games in the Ghana Premier League.

The team is currently in the relegation scrap lying 17th on the league table after 32 matches with 35 points garnered so far with two matches to spare.

President and owner of the club, Dr Papa Kwasi Nduom has bemoaned the team's inability to defeat teams in the lower half of the league despite their giant killer status beating Kotoko,WAFA and neighbours Ebusua Dwarfs.

He says his team's woes is not because of their recent form but its mainly because of their inability to beat teams in the lower half of the table with King Faisal, Inter Allies and Liberty all beating Elmina Sharks.

Speaking in an interview with Ahomka FM in Cape Coast, the founder of the club, Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom was clearly unhappy with the club’s inability to win games against lower oppositions.

“Our current position on the league table is not as a result of our very recent results.

“What hurts me most is that the likes of King Faisal can come to our own stadium to defeat us. That is very hurtful.

“It is also painful to lose against the likes of Liberty Professionals and Inter Allies when Elmina Sharks are capable of defeating the likes of Kotoko…”

Elmina Sharks will have to get maximum points in their last two matches at home against another relegation threatened side Legon Cities before facing title chasing Kotoko away from home.

They will need to play above themselves if they are to secure their Premier League status in the Ghana Premier League.
