The minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Mustapha Ussif has revealed that Electronic ticketing(E-ticketing) which was recently introduced at various stadiums has come to stay.

He says that going forward all government stadiums will resort to E-ticketing to admit fans into the stadium.

It was first used in the first leg of the 2022  FIFA World Cup play off against Nigeria at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium when Ghana faced Nigeria in the 0-0  drawn  game.

Ghana had the highest ever revenue generated at any football match in the country and it was replicated during the Kotoko vs Hearts Ghana Premier League match day 24 clash at the Baba Yara Stadium.

According to the Minister the process was very reliable and efficient eliminating any thievery or corruption so it has come to stay and will be used at the 2023 Africa Games.

He made this statement when he hosted the Press at Ministry of Information in Accra to give account of his ministry.

“We could trace the sales at the comfort of our office and within few hours the whole tickets were sold. Certainly this is a good sales process. We cannot do away with it.  It has come to stay,” he emphasized.

There has been protest from the Ghana League Clubs Association(GHALCA) about the 5% that is being deducted as service charge from the gross gate proceeds for E-ticketing.
