Head coach of the senior men's national team the Black Stars, C.K Akonnor has leapt to the defense of Black Stars goalkeeper Razak Abalora.

Razak Abalora has been under the cosh for his error leading to Morocco's winner in Tuesday's friendly match.

The Moroccans got their goal after a howler from Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Razak Abalora.

Jawad El Yamiq scored the only goal of the game after an unpardonable error from the Kotoko goalie.

A free kick from Hakim Ziyech was fluffed by Abalora for Jawad El Yamiq to nod into an empty net.

It is the second error the Kotoko goalkeeper has committed while playing for the Black Stars after doing a similar thing in Ghana's 2021 AFCON qualifier last game against Sao Tome and Principe.

Many Ghanaians are calling for his head to after his latest howler that gifted Morocco a 1-0 win on Tuesday night.

Speaking with the Official Ghana FA website, the Black Stars coach says we have to move on as the goalkeeper himself is aware he made a mistake and we will have to encourage him as he is a good goalie.

"He has made a mistake, he knows himself but we are not in the position to kill him. We need each and every one to be at good level. Yes, we have to move on, we have to encourage him. He is a good goalkeeper. No doubt about that. We will not kill him; we will encourage him on how to improve." he said.
