Accra Hearts of Oak have released a statement debunking some reports in the media that they paid their players monies for securing a 1-1 draw with Karela United on match day 21 at Anyinase.

There were reports in the local media that board chairman of the club, Togbe Afede XIV had paid each player GHC800 for securing a draw against Karela United.

According to the club they do not pay bonuses for drawn matches and the reports are false and should be treated with the contempt it deserves.

The statement  from the club reads: "We want to emphasize that, as a club we don't "celebrate" draw.Thats ridiculous and self demeaning

"A promise was made for victory, but the players missed it"

"We are appealing to all who wish to talk on issues of the club to cross check their facts before publication and desist from fabricating stories concerning our club" it said.
