The Ghana Education Service has debunked rumours making rounds that the the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) has been scrapped.

Since the change in curriculum, rumours have been rife that the B.EC.E has also been replaced but the education body says these stories are false and should be treated with the contempt it deserves.

It also adds that the JHS curriculum is yet to be reviewed talk of scrapping it outright.

According to GES, they have Shifted from an objectives-based to a standards-based curriculum.
Strengthened acquisition of the 4Rs (Reading, wRiting, aRithmetic and cReativity) as foundational skills for lifelong learning and national development.

Senior High Schools
SHS 3 reopening is *August 19th, 2019*
This is to enable schools run the Academic Intervention for 4 weeks to make-up for 5 weeks that will be lost due to WASSCE Exams

*Teachers will be compensated*
