Accra Hearts of Oak played out a 1-1 drawn game with fierce city rivals Accra Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday evening.

There was controversy after Isaac Mensah's powerful shot hit the underside of the cross bar bar an appeared to have crossed the goal line but the center referee and the assistant referee deemed the ball not to have crossed the line.

But replays showed that the ball had clearly crossed the line and that should have been awarded as a goal for the phobians.

Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak has called for the introduction of goal line technology to help officiating officials in making such calls.

This follows his side's 1-1 draw with Great Olympics in their match day 28 clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Emmanuel Nettey scored for Hearts with a ferocious strike five minutes after the break before Maxwell Abbey Quaye pulled parity for Accra Great Olympics.

Speaking after the game, the former Medeama coach insisted his side scored a clear goal which should have stood.

"It's a good game, Olympics did well. We got a lot of chances but we couldn't score but the linesman disallowed Isaac Mensah's goal and I think it crossed the line so is a clear goal but I don't want to talk about officiating"

"If that goal was awarded the situation could have been different. I think the introduction of the goal-line technology can help" he said.
