Former Ghana youth international Awudu Issaka who also had spells with the Black Stars has advised all national team players to demand their pound of flesh as leadership of our various associations and government's in the past have short changed players for far too long.

The disco dancer as he was called in the days says that more often than not players are promised bonuses to do a task and come for the money afterwards but after accomplishing the job the money becomes a problem.

Speaking in an interview on Kumasi based Akoma FM, he urged all players of the various national teams to fight for what ever monies promised them.

The disco dancer cited a failed promise that was made to the Ecuador 1995 squad that won the World U-17  title as an example.

Awudu Issaka was a prominent member of that squad and dazzled the world with his nimble feet and amazing skills with his dancing skills whenever he scored a goal earning him the moniker 'disco dancer'.

He says there were promised an amount of $3000 after winning the trophy but up till date that promise has not been fulfilled to him and the entire Ecuador 1995 squad.

"Our leaders will normally tell us the money is on a plane coming and the will end up deceiving you"

"We were deceived in a similar fashion in 1995 when we were promised $3000 and up till now the money has not been paid to us they took the money but it was never given to us"

"That is why I always fight for footballers I will advise all national team players that they should take all monies promised them If its not given they should not agree" he advised.
