Black Stars striker, Jordan Ayew says that the Black Stars team were not good enough that is why they have exited the African Cup of Nations at the group stage.

Ghana crushed out of the tournament after losing to lowly ranked Comoros Island 3-2 on Tuesday when many expected the Black Stars to win to qualify.

The Black Stars lost their opening game to Morocco by 1-0 before drawing 1-1 with Gabon and losing 3-2 to the 132nd ranked Comoros Island as captain Andre Ayew was sent off in the 25th minute.

Ghana managed to score two goals even with ten men but shipped in three goals to minnows Comoros Island.

The goal shy Jordan Ayew failed to score a single goal but believes that it is a wake up call for the young Ghana squad to learn from the experience.

“We were not good enough, we have a young squad, it’s a wake-up call for everyone and if we don’t learn from this then I don’t know,” the Crystal Palace forward said during the post match interview.

Ghana will now turn their attentions to the 2022 World Cup qualifiers with the pairings to be done on January 22 after a group stage exit since it happened in 2006.
