Kumasi Asante Kotoko have in the past been accused of stock piling players who they did not need just for the sake of it.

The club has most often had a bulging roster of players numbering as high as 50 at a point but that will soon be a thing of the past.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of the club, Nana Yaw Amponsah, the club will only have a total of 30 players in the club's first team.

"We are going to keep 30 players; 4 goalkeepers, 8 defenders, 8 midfielders, 4 strikers, 4 youth players and 2 outstanding players."

Speaking at Tuesday's press conference to unveil the eight member management team, he revealed that the club will only recruit young hungry players and won't have more than 30 players at the club.

"Asante Kotoko will focus on young and hungry players."

"That is the way forward. WAFA beat Hearts 5-0 with youngsters and it is the way to go".

"The fans must be patient and trust the process. Rome was not built in a day. Football is not just about one match" he added.
