Coach of the Black Stars, C.K Akonnor is content with the output of his players despite the team losing one nil against Sudan on Tuesday.

The Black Stars of Ghana fell to a late goal from Sudan striker Mohammed Abdul Rahman during injury time to leave the group wide open and delay Ghana's qualification for the AFCON.

He says he is very delighted with his team's performance but believes they will learn their lessons going forward against Sao Tome and South Africa.

According Akonnor the Sudanese showed a lot of hunger as compared to the Black Stars that is why they won the game.

Speaking in the post-match interview, coach Akonnor says his players did well considering the negative tactics deployed by their opponents prior to the match.

“The players fought under uncomfortable conditions like the weather and the Sudanese tried to frustrate us before the game and I appreciate the players’ effort.”

“The Sudanese players were hungrier than us. We will learn from the mistakes we did today and we’ll do well against South Africa and São Tomé and qualify,”

Ghana lead Group C despite losing to Sudan by nine points same as South Africa but with better goal difference and will require at least four points from their next two game to top the group.
