The communications director of the Ghana Football Association, Henry Asante Twum says that Ghana will have a formidable side come June during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers when key players who are injured return.

Ghana has struggled in recent times and do not have a win in any competitive game since November and  will be looking to bounce back in the World Cup qualifiers.

The GFA spokesperson is optimistic that Ghana will parade a very formidable side in June with the return of key players when the World Cup qualifier starts in June

That by June, all leagues across the World will have ended and the players would have gotten enough rest.

We should have all of our players fully fit by the time the season ends, so I’m confident that we will be in a strong position to compete very soon,” Twum affirmed on Akoma FM, highlighting the importance of key players such as Mohammed Kudus and Thomas Partey.

“Kudus, Thomas, Amartey, Djiku, Gideon Mensah, and all of our key players are fit [should be] fit and healthy.

The next matches against Mali and the Central African Republic are crucial for Ghana who need to top Group H to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.

After winning one and losing the other in the first two round of matches, the Black Stars are fourth on the table behind Comoros, Mali, and Madagascar.
